LearnLab consists of a unique collection of learning tools and content, designed to be engaging, fun, collaborative and interactive, while also giving educators unique insight into new types of assessment. The LearnLab summer school helped me understand what it looks like to bridge the gulf between research and practice. Carnegie Mellon University convened industry professionals, faculty and researchers for the 14th annual Simon Initiative LearnLab Summer School in late July. Working together in teams of two or three, participants learned about technology-enhanced learning (TEL) while gaining a conceptual background and considerable hands-on experience in designing, setting up and running TEL experiments.
